Music for the moment!
The soundtrack to your wedding starts as everyone is taking their seats for the ceremony. However, it doesn’t stop there. Not only do you need to think of your entrance music, you need to think of the filler music during the reception and the dancefloor music too. The music doesn’t stop until you and your new husband have your final dance of the night.
When in discussion with your choice of musician we advise the following:
There is no power available for musicians, singers or bands to the Beach or Lawn Ceremony areas.
You will have to ensure that your celebrant and musician/s provide their own electrical source.
Horizons has a great in-house sound system we can offer for Balcony Ceremony music (whether you have chosen to have a Balcony Location initially or it is your Wet Weather back-up plan). Whilst we have 2 cordless microphones available for Celebrants to use for a Balcony Ceremony, often celebrants have preferred to use their own.
Our main piece of advice for you regarding your ceremony is: Your celebrant and whomever is playing the music for your ceremony must have a very good quality, LOUD, sound system as a small 240V PA can at times be overshadowed by the sound of the ocean and/or wind. Their microphones need to be prepared to play or talk to a crowd that is 2-3 times larger than your actual guest numbers.
If you engaging the same supplier for Ceremony and Reception music then we ask that the Reception set-up is carried out before the Ceremony Set-Up. This will ensure that the musician/s is able to quickly navigate both locations for guests’ arrival.
Crew Meals are supplied immediately after guests have been served their Entree & Main meals. This is because musicians act as DJs for that time so their all important music sets don’t overlap with eating time. We need to know if any other of your other suppliers have a dietary requirement or food allergy. It is important to us that every guest and wedding day supplier on our premise has a meal prepared according to a dietary requirement. If we are not made aware of their requirement until the event, our kitchen will be held up preparing a meal which could delay the perfectly planned timing of the days' events.
